I have been so bad about posting and taking pictures the past two weeks! I don't know why I have not been keeping up ever since I got here. These weeks just keep flying by I can't even believe it. But, here are some pictures and little blurbs about the last couple weeks.
Baking cookies is a new favorite afternoon activity for Whitney and I. She loves helping especially when it comes to licking the spoon, the bowl, her fingers, anything she can find cookie dough on. Her classic line when I tell her to stop eating it is "last one?"
We set up a movie theatre in the playroom in her princess tent with comfy chairs, blankets, popcorn and lots of barbie movies. |
Connor giving the guinea pig, Milo, a bath. Milo's got this weird eye disease and it's all goopy and crusting over...it's totally disgusting. Amy put antibiotics in his water to help cure the disease or at least put the poor guy out of its misery.
Painting nails is also a new favorite. What have I done to her? She's only 3.
We went to dinner at the Greek restaurant down the street. I'm pretty sure it's called Mykonos but they just call it "The Greek Restaurant." Plate #73 (72?) was a popular pick and very tasty. You can kind of see in the corner there a bowl of some strange side dishes and oh yes, pickled beets. For all of my friends who make fun of my obsession with pickled beets, don't worry Connor was equally grossed out by them.

Amy had a birthday party for a lady at work so she brought me along to this classic German restaurant. You can see in the corner the little rodent haha they were all over the place. I had a hefferveisen (sp?) which I learned is the "healthy" beer and often served mixed with coke. I opted out of the coke but would be interested to see what its like.
The restaurant was known for its flamkuken, really thin crust pizza, so I got one with cheese, bacon, onion and chili. It was delicious and I ate the whole thing. I swear it looks bigger in the picture!
It was really nice a couple weeks ago and now it's absolutely freezing! It's suppose to snow, ugh, and everyone was sick last week which was a total bummer. January went by so fast though I feel like in no time it'll start getting warmer. Not to rush ahead though because they have an awesome ski trip planned for the end of February!
That's all I've got for now, definitely a very brief summary of the two weeks. But everything is going great, Germany is a really cool place and I may just never leave!

Hefeweizen is the beer I always get too! And the beers are usually mixed with coke or sprite/citrus soda....those are usually called Radlers. The ones mixed with lemon/lime sodas are pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were getting me in that picture. UGH! I would have looked up. lol! Love your blog!! :)
