Love This Time of Year

I love this time of year, especially now that I have 3 little people willing and wanting to play outside in the snow! The holidays are in full swing here and you all know how happy that makes me. Pulled out the winter jacket, hat, gloves and scarf and it's looking like they won't be put away for a while now... no complaints here. I was driving the other day and thought how amazingly perfect the english countryside looked covered in snow. I never thought it could look prettier than it did when I first arrived, or when the leaves were changing and starting to fall, but this is giving it a run for it's money. I wish you could all visit me here, or at least someone, but with the recent change of plans it looks like that won't be happening... but it really is perfect here.

The week started off with Lisa being sick so I took over some of her “mom duties” and took the girls to Kid Zone, this indoor kids place with inflatables, slides, all kinds of stuff. They got to have dinner there, cheeseburgers and fries…they will fit in in America for sure (if I hadn’t mentioned they will probably be moving to California in January/February). I forgot my camera so no pictures : /

The first “big” snow came on Tuesday so when the girls left for school Kate and I headed outside to build a snowman, a legit one with a carrot nose and all! When the girls got home it was already dark out (usually dark around 4:30pm) but they insisted we play in the snow. Our attempt to make another snowman turned into throw snow at Lindsay so I would throw them in the snow…funny how that worked out. :)
The little snow bunny coming home from ballet wearing my scarf and hat(very excited about that).

Wednesday I started my Christmas shopping carrying over into Friday. I spent way too much money but am almost finished so no last minute shopping for me!
I love anything pickled but these were pickle n onion crunchy cheetos! Not bad, not good, just weird.

The weekend started off with lots and lots of Christmas decorations! We went and picked out a tree, never had a real tree before, put it up with lights and ornaments and Abbie got to put the star on top, very excited about that. Gordon put on Christmas music while everyone decorated the house and its really starting to feel like Christmas! Only downside is all the snow melted so I’m praying for a white Christmas. We went to Kate’s preschool for the school fair where they had games and who other then Father Christmas. We got home and Lisa and Gordon were going out so we had a girls night with pizza and movies.
Can you tell Kate likes her picture taken? They are all of her!

Sunday we chilled out all day. Kate came knocking on my door in the morning and we played games the rest of the day…the WHOLE day. Sardines is a personal favorite, kind of like hide and seek but better! I was worn out so I suggested painting nails so they would settle down so of course Kate wanted her makeup done as well. We hung out in my room listening to music and eating too much candy until it was time for dinner, spaghetti and meatballs that Gordon made, delicious. We all sat down to watch X-Factor semifinals and had dessert, scone with cream and jam, then headed up for bed.
Abbie & Kate's dance off. Should have recorded it because it was hilarious.

Another great week with the fam. I decided I’m staying here till after Abbie’s birthday (Dec 30) which I’m glad because she was more than happy about it. Agne and I were suppose to do some traveling this weekend but I’ve been finding it difficult to get away because there is always stuff going on here and I like hanging out with the girls! I’m hoping I can at least make it to Stonehenge and Oxford…HOPEFULLY!

  1. We (Ishould say I) put up the tree and Craig and Matt put ornaments on. The house is decorated, cards in the mail and I only have a little shopping to do. Low on presents this year; no need for overload. Sounds like everything is going well for a Dickens Christmas. The ornaments i sent are personalized I hope they go well with their decorations. Talk soon. xoxo
