First Day on the Job

Yesterday I went on my first driving lesson in my new car which turned out to be harder than I thought. I backed out of the driveway into a low fence with Kate and Abbie in the backseat laughing. We drove to the schools and into the town center in Tring which is really cute and has one main street where all the little shops are. We stopped to get "petrol" and thankfully there was no car behind us because I forgot the emergency break and started rolling backwards. The girls think its hilarious to watch me drive.

We got back to the house and I took Abbie and Kate to the park just a minute walk down the street. I met some of the other kids and moms in the neighborhood, all so cute. I met Lisa's friend Sasha there who is training to be a hairdresser at a top salon in Tring and she is taking me into work one night to meet the other girls who are all around my age which I am excited about. Sasha needs models each Thursday night so I'll be getting free haircuts which is always a plus(maybe I'll come back with something crazy)!

We had spaghetti bolognese for dinner and the cupcakes we had baked earlier in the day for dessert. The girls took a bath and headed to bed while I followed not long after.

We had to be up early today for the first day of school and my first day alone with the girls! Lisa left around 8am to head to her school so me and the girls had the house to ourselves until we left around 8:40am. I tried to take videos of them to post but they were acting crazy so I'm not sure you'll get to hear the accent(I'll post them anyway).

Aren't they cute/?!

(been trying to load the videos for too long so i'll try later)

We headed off for school and Abbie had to help me with directions which I wish I could have taped because we were all laughing hysterically. We got there eventually, took Beth and Abbie in and met the teachers and walked around their school(which was super small, like the size of a small house!) and headed back home with Kate. We ended up getting lost in the development because I wasn't listening to Kate when I should have but got here after a few turn arounds!

Kate and I played all morning with the barbies until it was time for lunch which I've noticed they use butter A LOT. They put it on their sandwiches as a condiment with ham. I also tried one of Kate's skips which are prawn cocktail flavored puffy chip things that were disgusting but she loves them.

We went into Tring after I picked the girls up at 3pm for Beth's Kumon(some class she's in to get ahead in reading and math?) and got lost on the way with all the turnabouts and lost again in the development on the way home...hopefully I'll get use to this sooner than later!
